Pinwheels for Prevention

"Pinwheels for Prevention" is a public awareness and educational campaign designed to draw attention to the prevention of child abuse and neglect on a national, state and local level. Prevent Child Abuse America and each of its state chapters, including Prevent Child Abuse Alabama, are adopting the pinwheel as their new symbol. The pinwheel is a happy and uplifting symbol of childhood and can be used in a number of ways to capture the community's attention and motivate people to become involved in child abuse prevention efforts. Nearly a half million pinwheels were distributed throughout the country last year as a demonstration of the fast growing belief that we can prevent-not just respond to-child abuse and neglect.
